Progressing In Reverse Will Not Win The Human Race
Marching backward toward infanticide and pagan death culture
Before I get falsely accused of plagiarism, let me begin by saying that my title is not a recent Sleepy Joe quote, or the latest word salad from Vice President Harris. Nor will we need Jen Saki to circle back and explain what I really meant. Now I have Ricky Ricardo in my head saying “You got a lotta splainin to do, Lucy”. Thanks Ricky, I will do my best.
During the time when God first appeared to Abraham and then later to Moses, Paganism was the social order of the day and continued to be that into the time when God incarnate came down to earth as Jesus. Under pagan rule, abortion and infanticide were common practices and endorsed as a societal good in terms of natural human survival, even by learned minds such as Aristotle’s. God condemned infanticide and human sacrifice through prophets such as Jeremiah (Jeremiah 19:5-6). God gave Moses The Ten Commandments, one of which was, as commonly translated, ‘Thou Shalt Not Kill’. A more accurate translation, in the parlance of our times, would be ‘Thou Shalt Not Murder’. Jesus confirmed the authenticity of The Old Testament as God’s Word when He said “Do not think I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come to fulfill them”. The idea of the sanctity of human life came from God and has evolved into the moral secular law by God through Christ and Christianity.
In todays modern secular society abortion is now common without the social stigma of a mere 30 or forty years ago and is accepted to the point where it carries about the same spiritual, moral and emotional weight as having one’s tonsil’s removed. Some women cavalierly use it as birth control without a second thought. This is somehow thought of as having a “progressive” attitude. Ridiculously named, tax payer funded Planned Parenthood endorses it as a woman’s right and nothing more. Oops, almost forgot. Men can now get pregnant too, but I digress as that’s a whole nuther newsletter. That Dr. Kermit Gosnell was able to perpetrate his evil for as long as he did should make one shudder. Completely gone from our collective conscience is the miracle of birth. The divine gift that ought be held sacred less than only God himself.
A few State Governors and some State Legislators are using language seemingly intent on sliding the definition of abortion into including terminating the life of a baby after it has emerged from the womb. No outrage or even questioning of this from the main stream media lets us now that they are completely on board with this, what I call, culture of death. Assisted suicide at least still requires the consent of the murdered. As the sanctity of human life itself continues, in our collective eyes, to diminish, what’s to keep governments from terminating the lives of the elderly as they become expensive, less productive burdens? In pagan times the sick and elderly were fed to dogs specifically trained for that purpose. Seems far fetched until you think of how quickly abortion on demand at any time during a pregnancy has become the accepted norm. 20 years ago, aborting a baby after delivery would have been condemned as abhorrent and unacceptable to the great majority. Clearly, as presented by the ongoing evil in the world, we are progressing in reverse, away from God and back to paganism. And quite clearly to me, it is to God we need to return.
